There are three types of techniques in this area. Structural osteopathy, which helps the musculoskeletal system. Relaxing
Therapeutic Massage
At BACK in MOTION PV we offer the only relaxing clinical therapeutic massage service in Puerto Vallarta.
The objective is to achieve a mechanical and physical effect on the muscles, tendons, ligaments and the circulatory and lymphatic systems. The stimuli applied to the skin that travel through the sensory pathways reach the central nervous system, reaching various areas in the spinal cord and brain areas, causing functional changes in the body.
These changes are perceived in the skin, which when stimulated releases a substance causing blood vessels to increase. Therefore, the temperature increases by 3°C. The heat generated causes softeningand relaxation of the tissues.
Through the circulatory and lymphatic system, some substances that are generated by the skin stimulation of the massage travel and are distributed throughout the body, exerting beneficial effects on the organs and systems, significantly increasing blood circulation in the skin and muscles; effect that is also obtained by the opening of the capillaries due to the friction of the skin due to the massage. This effect collaborates with blood return to the heart and helps oxygenation and improves cellular metabolism, promoting the elimination of cellular waste.
The relaxing therapeutic massage recovers the condition of the tense muscle thanks to the improvement of metabolism. Relaxed muscles stop putting pressure on the lymphatic vessels and blood, helping the expulsion of chemical elements that cause muscle fatigue.By eliminating The waste from the cells causes the venous and capillary systems to open, bringing in a large amount of oxygen and nutrients that will improve the functional state of the muscles.
Another effect of relaxing therapeutic massage in BMPV is the improvement of blood supply in the joints and in the synovial fluid, it also increases the elasticity of the ligaments, achieving a better range of motion of the joint and its structures. . In the nervous system it improves the ability to receive good stimuli reducing chronic pain.
Due to the sensory stimuli and motor responses of the nervous system, relaxation is achieved and the effectiveness of the body’s functionality is increased.

Dry
Needling
At BACK in MOTION PV we use dry needling as a specialized technique to treat muscle disorders caused by myofascial trigger points, which are irritable points in muscle areas that become painful.
With the use of a needle, similar to acupuncture needles, the trigger point is located and punctured to generate a mechanical effect. This technique is defined as dry needling because no substance or medication is introduced along with the needle, it is just a matter of puncturing the affected area. span>
The direction, depth, angle and shape of the needle are variable factors depending on the type of muscle or location of the hyper-irritable points.
What we treat at BMPV
What technique is used in BACK in MOTION PV?
A needle of variable size is introduced in order to obtain a muscle spasm. Once the irritable point is reached, the needle is mobilized until new muscular reactions are achieved. The depth of the technique will depend on the area to be treated and the type of muscle, as well as the patient’s reaction to tolerate the procedure.
Some pain and discomfort occurs in the following hours but at the same time an incredible improvement in the condition caused by the trigger points is perceived. Therefore, the damaged muscle will begin to regenerate and relax, until the pain in the localized and nearby affected area disappears.
When is this specialized BMPV treatment performed?
When the patient presents chronic musculoskeletal pain or myofascial pain syndrome, in muscle spasms caused by lifting loads or forced postures, sports injuries, etc.
What are the symptoms of dry needling?
This technique is performed by an expert in the area of muscle physiotherapy at BMPV. The pain lasts a few seconds, although in some cases it occurs throughout the day or several days, depending on the patient’s recovery and the muscle involvement. The sensation of pain is similar to that produced by stiffening.
What is the effect of dry needling on muscles?
Destroys damaged muscle fibers, since from muscle spasms it eliminates substances associated with pain and inflammation. The pressure helps blood flow and muscle oxygenation so that the muscle relaxes, promoting recovery.
What conditions are ideal to be treated with dry needling?
- muscle contractures, trauma or blows.
- Cervical or lumbar muscle tension or stiffness.
- Back pain or tension or rotator cuff injuries.
- low back pain, hip muscle injuries, etc.
- muscle affections due to chronic-degenerative injuries.
- other joint disorders in the shoulder, hip, knee, etc.
- affections of the TMJ, suboccipital or neck muscles.
What are the benefits of dry needling?
- Recovery of the sore muscle area more effectively.
- Better reach of the deeper layers of the skin that are impossible with other techniques.
- More effectiveness and efficiency in reducing chronic muscle pain.
- Total tissue regeneration after 3 days.
- It is a safe technique based on scientific evidence.
